About Us.
to be updated when the season is determined.
The Ballan Cricket Club currently has 3 Senior teams and one under age team competing in the Ballarat Cricket Association & 2 in the MJCA for the 2018/2019 season.
Current teams for this season are: Senior 1st XI - BCA 2nd Grade comp , Senior 2nd XI - BCA One Day A Grade comp, BCA One Day B Grade comp. BCA U15 1st XI comp.
Two junior teams playing Friday nights with the MJCA U 12A & U12B.
We had another relatively successful season with our Senior 1st XI making the Preliminary Final , whilst our Under 14's won their Grand Final.
In 2015/16 season, Cam Dunne won the top award for the 2nd Grade competition, with the Bernie Davey Medal, after Noel Heafield won the same award the previous season.
Michael Snaith continues with the role of captaining our senior 1st XI, with Shane Newton taking on the 2nd XI captaincy and John Costello taking charge of our 3rd XI.
We are also fielding two Under 12 teams in the Melton Association Junior Competition with them playing on a Friday night between 5 & 7.30 p.m. This initiative is filling a gap between Milo cricket and the Ballarat 13 & Under (which will also be on a Friday night) competition, giving up and coming young cricketers a chance to have a game of competitive cricket and to keep their interest.
This season sees our Under 15's playing in the 'Optus' U15 1st XI competition.
With a decrease in our U16 numbers this season, we were unable to field an Under 16 team.
Mick Loughnane returns this season as our Senior coach with another past cricketer in Chris Stirling taking on the coaching position of the Under 15's with Jason McEgan.
Troy Connor, Anthony McIlwaine and Peter McGregor all coach the U 12's.
The 'Milo" cricket will be back on Thursday nights, with a name change. 'Woolworths Junior Blasters' again as there are a lot of kids who enjoy getting a start to their cricket careers.
Training will still be at Ballan.
The Centurions supporters club is still continuing with the BCC to bring non playing members ( ex players & supporters alike) together to be recognized as a large and ongoing part of the club.
Well done to all of our teams for the previous season & good luck for the current season.
And many thanks to our sponsors and supporters.
