New faces in Senior roles for 2022/23
Ballan Cricket Club welcomes and congratulates two popular members of our  club into the most senior roles of President and Senior coach.
Firstly in the President Role is David Leach who started playing for Ballan in 2019. David joined our general committee last year and has also been looking after our U11 teams along with Jenny Bates. He  always puts his hand up to help out where he can including as Rec Reserve Rep. Not only is David great behind the scenes he is also well represented on the field and continues to play well with our 2nd XI.
A well respected member of the club David is very approachable and should do well. He taking the reins from Noel Heafield who decided to step down to Vice President this year after 4 seasons as President.

The Senior Coach role has been filled by
Mark Kennedy. Again a very popular club member and 1sts player who, as David has, joined us in 2019 and been on the committee from last season. Mark is keen to do well with the boys and wants the team to support each other throughout the season and through individual games whilst enjoying the game. Mark has played for Ballan with 42 matches to his name as a top order batsman and a handy  lower order bowler as well as being super keen in the field.
We wish them both the best for the current and upcoming seasons.

About Us.
The Ballan Cricket Club currently has 2 Senior teams and 4 under age teams competing in the Ballarat Cricket  Association for the 2020/2021 season.
Current teams for this season are: Senior 1st XI - BCA 2nd Grade comp , Senior 2nd XI - BCA 4th Grade comp .

And 4 junior teams;
BCA:U17 2nd XI, U15 2nd XI , U11 Seniors   & U13 2nd XI Spratling.

Our Under 11's play on Wednesday nights starting at 4.30pm.
Under 13's play on Friday nights starting at 5.00pm.
Under 15 & 17's play on Saturday mornings beginning at 8.30am.
Our U15's will be making up a side with the Brown Hill cricket club this season due to low numbers. This will give those players the chance to play a game of cricket rather than missing out for a season. Summer Dehnert will be looking after the U15's. A big thank you and welcome back to the club to her.

This last season saw another successful season with our U13 2nd XI taking out the Premiership with a large and excited crowd watching on.  As they were  the only team to go onto the Grand final a big congratulations to the team is well deserved along with their coaches Macca and Max.

In 2015/16 season, Cam Dunne won the top award for the 2nd Grade competition, with the Bernie Davey Medal, after Noel Heafield won the same award the previous season. 2018/19 saw Michael Snaith bring home the medal once again for the club.
His brother Lachie took out the top award, in 2020/21, winning the Bernie Davey Medal with 17 votes, 4 clear of the
runner up, Matt Swards from Golden Point.
Hayden Micallef continues with the role of captaining our senior 1st XI, with Max Burton continuing with the 2nd XI captaincy .
This season sees both of our senior sides under the reins of new Senior coach Mark Kennedy.

Under 11 coaches are Jenny Bates assisted by Stuart Grigg & Ashley Smith.
Under 13's have  Anthony McIlwaine and Max Burton as their coaches.
Under 15's  are being looked after by Summer Dehnert as she will be coaching and coordinating between Ballan and Brown Hill.
Jack McGregor and Ben Loughnane have taken on our Under 17 side with help from a couple of other senior players.

Thursday nights see 'Woolworths Junior Blasters' back again as there are a lot of kids who enjoy  the chance to get a great start to their cricket careers.

Training will still be at Ballan.

The Centurions supporters club is still continuing with the BCC to bring non playing members ( ex players & supporters alike) together to be recognized as a large and ongoing  part of the club.

Well done to all of our teams for the previous season & good luck for the current season.
And many thanks to our sponsors and supporters.
